About BuildPriced
We started BuildPriced for one reason: every existing site that claimed to give Florida home-cost data felt like it was either selling you something or padding word counts to sneak past Google. So we built the site we wished existed — clean cost guides, calculators that actually compute, real city-specific pricing.
How our cost numbers come together
Every cost range on this site is sourced from at least two of: published industry reports (Remodeling magazine, JCHS, HomeAdvisor), retail price sheets from FL distributors, and our internal dataset of contractor quotes verified against finished projects across Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, and Fort Lauderdale.
Numbers are reviewed quarterly. The “Last reviewed” date on every guide is real — when we update a source or recalculate a coefficient, the date changes. When we find a bad number, we fix it and explain.
How we vet contractors
We hand-pick a small roster of FL contractors per service category and per metro. Vetting requirements:
- Active state license verified through MyFloridaLicense.
- $1M+ general liability + workers comp coverage on file.
- Three independent customer references contacted within the last 6 months.
- Pricing within ±15% of our verified market range — no upsell artists.
- Response time SLA: contact within one business day.
How we make money
We earn referral fees from the contractors we match you with, and from select affiliate partners. We do not sell your contact info, take payment to push specific brands, or rank contractors based on what they pay us.
